Four Questions
Old-School Atlantan
Anna Regenstein Glaser, director of communications at the Trinity School, is an Atlanta native. She says her family has been in town for generations and, in fact, appears in Atlanta's first phonebook. Glaser attended the Lovett School for 14 years before going to Washington & Lee University. She answers Julep's Four Questions.
1. What book, movie, television show or other medium are you dying to share and why?
My father, Lew Regenstein, has written many books onÊwildlife and the environment, so I'd love to share those with the world. They teach many valuable lessons on environmental preservation and endangered species. They include America the Poisoned, The Politics of Extinction and Replenish the Earth.
2. If you could have brunch with one biblical or historical Jewish figure, who would it be and why?
Abraham. He is the father of three major world religions — Judaism, Christianity and Islam. I'd like to ask him what message he would have for all of his followers on how to achieve peace throughout the world and his thoughts on terrorists using religion as an excuse for mass murder. Also, Daniel,Êfrom the lion's den. My brother was named for him, so I'd love to meet him.
3. What is your favorite Jewish food and why?
Charoses for Passover and matzah ball soup for taste!
4. Nu? (So?)
With all of this uproar over dogfighting, I am reminded that Judaism has strict laws and rules against cruelty to animals, that we are commanded to "avoid causing the suffering of living creatures," and that you cannot be a good Jew and abuse other creatures.
