STACEY LASKEY, 33 ("a third of a century," as she says), is a marketing traffic manager at the Marcus Jewish Community Center. We think she is Such a Catch. Stacey tells Julep a little about herself.
1. What are you looking for in a mate?
My beshert will be someone who will have similar values to my own and will share my passion for tikkun olam. Someone with whom to explore the world, but who is equally content lounging on the couch for a Law and Order: SVU or CSI marathon.
2. What are your best qualities?
My loyalty to my friends, family and colleagues even over vast distances. My dedication to whatever I put my head into doing. My quick wit and humor and ability to impersonate that has been equated to that of a stand-up comedian.
3. How do you spend your spare time?
Kickboxing, expanding my vocal range by singing anything from as low as Cher to as high as Celine, strolling in Piedmont Park with my Israeli dog, Jazzmin, embarking on culinary adventures, becoming mesmerized by the plethora of TV channels that weren't available during my eight years in Israel (Star World doesn't count).
4. What is your guilty pleasure?
Ben & Jerry's pints of MOST flavors (ask my roommates - they've seen them ALL in the freezer!).
5. Etc.?I lived in Israel the past eight years and recently moved back to my native Atlanta. Although I became comfortable with the language and the culture over there, I missed having my family close. I was envious that my mom doted on my brother's dog but had never met mine. It was realizing I wanted my mom and brother to be a part of my life that ultimately steered me back to the good 'ol Southern U.S. of A. I am grateful for the experience of living in Israel, but am thrilled to be back home!
