Shayna Peiken wears her Jilly Jewelry designs.
Photo: Ann Marie Quill
When Shayna Peiken learned last year that her sister, Jill Estroff Young, was diagnosed with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare and incurable cancer of the heart, she discovered that doctors do not know much about the disease or have experience treating patients who have it. To help fund future angiosarcoma research at the Dana Farber Medical Center in Boston, where her sister is undergoing treatment, Peiken began designing Jilly Jewelry, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the center. Jilly Jewelry can be purchased in boutiques such at Olive & Fig in Roswell, Paper Affair in Marietta and Serendipity in Marietta, or by e-mailing jillyjewels@bellsouth.net.
Each Jilly Jewelry piece is handcrafted and unique, with adult bracelets costing $24, adult necklaces $36, children's bracelets $12 and children's necklaces $22.
