Julep reader Valerie Miller of Dunwoody recently threw a birthday party for her 1-year-old Pomeranian, a black-and-white ball of fluff named Cookie. Canine and human friends alike joined in the fun. Cookie's friends were treated to homemade treats, and birthday gifts included a bagel chew toy from studio36.com.

ADOPTABLE PET THE MONTH
Tulip is a 1-year-old miniature pinscher/dachshund mix who weighs 13 pounds. The day after she arrived at Atlanta Pet Rescue, she delivered four healthy puppies, who have all been adopted. Tulip is affectionate, outgoing and housebroken and loves to play outside.
